Youth Summer Associate - Seasonal Position

The Glen Ellyn Public Library is looking for one enthusiastic, creative and service-oriented person to assist the youth department this summer for 13 weeks. Summer associates will be staffing the reference desk, helping members with summer reading and assisting with programs.  Familiarity with children’s literature is a plus but not required.

Salary range: $15.00 to $21.61, $18.00 Midpoint for this position. Offers are made within this range based on competencies, experience, and internal equity. 

Hours: 18 hours/week  

Schedule:

Monday 1-5 

Wednesday 9-1 

Thursday 9-2 

Friday 1-6 

Requirements: High school degree required. One year of successful work experience in a public contact position interacting with children. Fluency in languages beyond English a plus.
