Youth Services Librarian

Curtis Memorial Library is seeking a creative, energetic professional who enjoys working with children and their families, is self-motivated, and embraces innovation and experimentation. This position provides a range of customer-focused library services for youth within the library and out in the community.

Primary responsibilities include developing educational, entertaining, and enriching programming, assisting children, teens, and caregivers at the youth services desk, and participating in collaborative planning and projects with colleagues and the community. The successful candidate will have proficiency with digital literacy, a working knowledge of a variety of youth literature, and experience working with children and teens.

Position is full-time (35 hrs/wk) and includes some evening and weekend hours. MLS degree, or degree pending in 2025, required; public library experience preferred.

Located in beautiful Midcoast Maine, Curtis Memorial Library is a dynamic community center serving a population area of 25,000 in the towns of Brunswick and Harpswell, with over 900 visits a day and growing. The area offers a rich array of educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities and a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly downtown.
