Posting Summary

This is a 9 month position, Sunday through Thursday evening shift during the academic year. When classes are not in session, this position becomes a first shift position.

Provide supervision of student employees and oversee security and safety during evening and weekend hours for the Howe Library. Supervise public service points, assist Library users with problems and access issues, enforce library policy, oversee stacks maintenance and coordinate projects with other Library and university staff.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

High School diploma, two years college coursework, three years of library experience or customer service experience required. Working knowledge of computer systems and standard application software required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills required. Experience managing and prioritizing tasks and projects.

Initial employment is contingent upon successful completion of physical screening: Must be able to lift 10 lbs. frequently and 53 lbs. occasionally floor to waist level. Must be able to lift 10 lbs. frequently and 30 lbs. occasionally waist to shoulder level. Push/pull 20 lbs. Must be able to carry 53 lbs. occasionally. Climb ladders and stand/sit for prolonged periods of time. Repetitive forward reaching required.

Desirable Qualifications:

Previous experience in libraries and supervision of student employees is desired.

Anticipated Pay Range $22.50-$24.10/hr

Special Conditions Weekend work required, A probationary period may be required, Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, 2nd Shift (Shift differential applies.), This position is ineligible for telework due to the essential functions, Background Check required for this position, A post-offer pre-employment (POPE test) physical examination is required
