Position Grade: 12
Position Summary
The University of New Mexico, College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences (UL&LS), has an opening for a full-time Library Services Coordinator for Reference and Information Services. We seek a service-oriented individual with a proven ability to lead and implement services in a collaborative environment. This position joins the Access Services team, a group whose areas of responsibility include circulation and help/information services; resource sharing and delivery services; stewardship of physical library collections, including those housed at our new high-density repository; and oversight for learning and creative spaces.
THE POSITION AND TEAM
The Library Services Coordinator (LSC) for Reference and Information Services coordinates frontline public services delivery via chat, text, email, and other modes across the University Libraries. The position oversees the training and support of staff and student employees providing information services and works closely with the Operations Manager of each building to schedule and implement reference and information services for library patrons. The LSC will be responsible for compiling statistics and providing broad assessment of information services within the context of Access Services, and, more broadly, with the Library's Assessment Team. The LSC for reference and information services will collaborate with faculty and staff providing reference services outside of Access Services and will lead the cross-departmental Reference Working Group to assess and implement frontline information services.
The position serves on the Access Services Leadership team, forging positive relationships between and within groups focused on the development, delivery, and assessment of user-focused services. The position reports to the Director of Access Services.
