The Collection Assessment Librarian (part-time) will work on a project to assess the holdings of Hilton C. Buley Library to identify gaps in the collection where additional resources are needed to support SCSU’s new R2 designation and to support our Diversity Equity Inclusion and Social Justice mission. The information gathered from the review will inform requests for funding and budget priorities. Job duties include working with Technical Services librarians to develop a project plan to conduct this assessment and collaborating with relevant subject liaison librarians to complete the analysis and report findings.

This position is part time (19 hours per week) for one semester, under the supervision of the Library Director, and covered by the CSCU AAUP Contractual Bargaining Agreement. Work can be in-person or hybrid, but availability to work on-campus during weekday daytime hours is required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from ALA-Accredited Library School.
  • Ability to collect, read, analyze, and understand data in a variety of formats.
  • Knowledge of library collection management standards and tools, such as reporting modules within ILS and digital repositories.
  • Ability to manage projects, set and adjust priorities, work under pressure, be thorough and accurate, follow tasks through to completion, meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with collection assessment. Experience with COUNTER reporting standards. Experience with Ex Libris Alma & Ex Libris Alma Analytics. Familiarity with data analysis and visualization applications.
