Pay Range Information
Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate's qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. Job Description Summary
The Library Assistant III provides library support and is located at the Rinker Campus in Irvine.
The Library Assistant performs and coordinates specialized library functions including but not limited to circulation, stacks or collection maintenance, technical processing, gathering statistics and library outreach. Provides student, staff, faculty, and community patron assistance including responding to in-person, telephone, and other inquiries. Participates in hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising student employees. Conducts machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of photocopier and digital displays. Provides routine transactions such as managing study room reservations, charging, discharging, and renewing materials. Comprehensively explains library policies and procedures, resolves problems, and assists in the acquisition of library materials. Other duties as assigned.

This position is scheduled to work 40 hours a week. A flexible work schedule is required. Scheduled shifts will vary from opening, afternoon and closing shifts based on the library's needs including weekends.
