Description

The Dean of Library Services reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. The Dean of Library Services is responsible for all aspects of Library Services. The Dean provides leadership to guide library services.



Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 

Master’s degree in library science or equivalent field from a regionally accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four or more years of experience on jobs leading to this type of position.
  • Experience in planning and managing a budget.
  • Grant writing and administration skills.
  • Experience in supervising and managing staff.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience

Work Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Essential Job Functions:

  • Plan library services to support the mission of LSCPA.
  • Organize staff and resources. Train, supervise and evaluate library staff.
  • Coordinate library services and support services internally and externally.
  • Report results of programs to Vice President for Academic Affairs.
  • Develop and implement the library budget.
  • Oversee library services including reference, instruction, circulation and inter-library loans.
  • Oversee library technical services tasks include cataloging, collection development, acquisitions, and serials.
  • Administer record management for the college.
  • Direct grants as needed.
  • Track and report building maintenance needs.
  • Troubleshoot network and computer hardware and software issues.
  • Meet with area and regional peers.
  • Evaluate book donations.
  • Attends community and campus cultural events.
  • Serves on campus committees as requested.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
