Job Description
General Description / Primary Purpose: The Coordinator of Acquisitions will report directly to the Head of Resource Acquisition and Discovery and be part of the Technical Services and Library Systems Department. This position requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. This coordinator will manage and coordinate the acquisition workflows for library materials acquired by the Thomas G. Carpenter Library. This complex process involves creating and maintaining records in library and vendor systems as well as researching and gathering information necessary to complete orders and invoicing. Most ordering is completed using the integrated library system and online systems provided by the library's collection of vendors for journals and other research materials. The coordinator will assist with managing licensing, vendor contact and account information in the integrated library system. The coordinator will commit funds for library material expenditures and assist with managing the materials budget. The coordinator will assist with various collection development tasks and supervise and train the Library Services Specialist for Acquisitions.
Job Function:
Manages orders in the integrated library system and with the vendor or publisher.
Creates and distributes routine budget and statistical reports, including but not limited to budget, usage, and other statistical reports as needed.
Encumbers funds, processes invoices, and assists with the management of the materials budget.
Resolves ordering/invoicing/receipt/vendor problems for journals, databases, and other items acquired by the unit.
Maintains information in the integrated library system.
Works closely with the Acquisition Librarian to monitor expenditures.
Evaluates and adjusts workflow processes and systems related to acquisitions as needed.
Work collaboratively with members of Resource Acquisition and Discovery and other Library departments (Instruction, Systems, Library Administration).
Supports Collection Development and liaisons with library material purchases and renewals.
Coordinates with Library Systems to implement new software and tools related to acquisitions processing and management.
Collaborates with the Library Business Operations Manager and the University Procurement Services on library material expenditures.
Contributes to overall success of UNF Library by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Marginal Functions:
Maintains awareness of library projects and activities in all departments; participates in planning and policy-making bodies of the library and university as appropriate. Serves on other library or university committees or project teams as appropriate. Participates in training and professional development activities as appropriate.

University library related experience
Experience using an integrated library system, such as Ex Libris, Alma
Ability to lift/move library materials (up to 30 lbs.); Ability to move loaded book trucks or hand carts.

Supervision Received: The Coordinator of Acquisitions will report directly to the Head of Resource Acquisition and Discovery.
Level of Public Contact: The level of public contact required of this position is high. The incumbent will be required to interact with faculty, staff, administrators, and vendors.
Monetary Responsibility: This position will be responsible for assisting with managing the materials budget.
Policymaking and/or Interpretation: Policy making and/or interpretation include but are not limited to: Making recommendations to the Head of Acquisitions and Collection Development on acquisitions related workflows. Formulating and recommending policies and procedures for effective management of acquiring physical and electronic materials.
Program Direction and Development: The person in this position must advise the Head of Acquisitions and Collection Development on current trends and best practices in acquiring physical and electronic materials. Additionally, this person must play a major role in planning and strategizing effective means of acquiring physical and electronic materials.

Required Qualifications: This position requires either (a) Master's degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization; (b) Bachelor's degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 6 years of direct experience.
