The Deerfield Public Library is seeking a creative, collaborative individual with professional marketing and communications experience to join our team. As the Communications and Marketing Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping the Library’s narrative and sharing our story with the Deerfield community. Collaboration with other departments is essential, and we are looking for someone enthusiastic about working with all our incredible staff to support the Library's mission and vision.

What You’ll Do Every Day:

  • Coordinate with staff across all departments, managing projects related to Library programming and messaging. Supervise the Communications Associate in the prioritization and completion of these projects.
  • Foster community engagement, supporting publicity for Library programs and services. Create and share print, digital and web content.
  • Lead and execute the Library’s communications strategy, evaluating and developing new processes for keeping communications current, consistent, and accessible.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications or a related field.
  • Proven experience and solid expertise in marketing or communications, preferably in a public library or nonprofit setting.
  • Minimum 2 years managerial experience.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in graphic design. Familiarity with website content management systems.
