Join Our Team as a Circulation Clerk!

Are you friendly, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping people? Our library is looking for two Part-Time Circulation Clerks to join our team!

What You’ll Do:

  • Greet and assist library patrons in person and over the phone
  • Check materials in and out, issue and renew library cards
  • Help patrons with general inquiries, computer use, fax and printing services
  • Sort and shelve materials to keep our collection organized
  • Support the library’s mission by providing excellent customer service
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • At least one year of experience in a customer service role

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and push book carts up to 100 lbs.

Available Schedules:

We are hiring for two positions with the following schedules:

Position 1:

• Monday: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM

• Thursday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

• 1 Sunday per month: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Position 2:

• Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

• Thursday: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM

• Every other Saturday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary: $15 - $19.10 per hour

Benefits include:

• Vacation and holiday time (based on work schedule)

• Voluntary 457 Retirement Plan participation

This position may also require occasional travel within the Chicagoland area for outreach and events.
