Job Purpose: The Anderson LC representative is the Learning Commons primary contact for TCTC students, staff, and faculty at our Anderson Community Campus service point. This frontline, patron-focused position facilitates access to a wide range of co-curricular services and supports. The successful candidate must display effective communication, collaboration, adaptability, creativity, self-direction, confidentiality, commitment to helping others. Works under the general supervision of the Director and Assistant Director of the Learning Commons. Functions in close collaboration with both Learning Commons colleagues and Anderson campus administration.

Duties:

  • Serves as the primary distribution point and information source for queries pertaining to a range of LC services, including academic support, learning strategies, research basics, critical information literacy, and resource access.
  • Provides frontline assistance to LC users in-person or via phone, email, online Chat services, and expedites access to LC services.
  • Participates in outreach efforts to support the Learning Commons and its mission from in-house displays and promotions to campus-wide engagements.
  • Maintains close communication with LC colleagues across campuses and coordinates efforts and activities.
  • Serves as the Learning Commons representative to campus stakeholders and partners, including Anderson Campus faculty and staff, campus administration, student development partners, and a range of allied Student Support and Engagement colleagues.
  • In coordination with library liaisons, manages a working physical collection of print resources to support the curriculum. Performs collection maintenance as required. Facilitates patron discovery and access to an array digital research tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.Minimum and Additional Requirements

High school diploma, a strong investment in student support, and a service orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, and prior experience in an academic support and/or library setting.
