Communications Associate

Lake Villa District Library is seeking a creative, energetic and detailed-oriented person to join our Communications Department. Strong writing skills, a collaborative work ethic and a healthy sense of humor are a must.

Responsibilities include content creation for email marketing and social media; contributing to the development of marketing campaigns and initiatives; and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and teams. 

This position reports directly to the Head of Communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related field preferred, OR Associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant marketing and communications experience
• 1-2 years marketing and communications experience
• Strong working knowledge of email marketing 
• Full understanding of social media including trends, popular content and nuances between platforms 
• Strong technology proficiency including photography, videography and editing
• Ability to work primarily weekday hours, evening and weekend hours on an as needed basis
• Access to transportation
