  • The Libraries at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Temporary ILL Technician & Serials Assistant! This role is responsible for the processing of daily ILL Lending requests and "scan and deliver" document delivery services for the CU Boulder Libraries. In conjunction with the Interlibrary Operations Manager, this position takes an active role in ensuring that requests are being processed and fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner. Requests processed by this position include "scan and deliver" document delivery services and lending to national and international libraries according to contractual obligations. This position serves as a work leader to student assistants working in document delivery and interlibrary loan lending, and supervises the physical movement of library materials being lent to other libraries. This position may also be required to participate in various other resource sharing activities depending on the needs of the team. In addition, this position is a secondary serials receiver and supports receiving backlog. What Your Key Responsibilities Will BeServes as a secondary serials receiver and supports receiving backlog. Receives, checks-in, and processes/routes print serials to their end destination. This includes opening mail and packages addressed for Serials Acquisitions; troubleshooting issues with damaged materials, incorrect check-in records, or holdings; managing the updates to the print holdings; and routing the print materials to their correct location for further processing, shelving, to the other library branches, etc.

  • Processes ILL Lending and Borrowing Scan and Deliver Requests Processes and fulfills ILL Lending requests and "Scan and Deliver" requests in a timely manner with attention to detail and accuracy. This includes supervising incoming requests, verifying articles are being downloaded or scanned accurately and sent, and materials are being retrieved, processed efficiently and accurately and supplied to our CU Boulder patrons or shipped to other national and international libraries.
  • Processes Non-Returnables Performs searching and scanning, or downloading of articles to fulfill RAPID, OCLC and Docline article requests; searches for unfound RAPID articles and other article requests and cancels them as necessary.
  • Processes PASCAL and Branch Library Requests Ensures the timely and accurate delivery of all print ILL Lending and Document Delivery requests for materials held at the PASCAL Offsite Storage Facility and request for materials held at the on campus branch libraries. This requires daily monitoring of these requests and following up with the various locations.What You Should Know

This is a temporary, full time position working normal business hours of 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. This temporary appointment may last up to six months.

What We Can Offer

The hiring rate for this position is $19 hour.
