The Reddick Public Library District, serving the Ottawa, Illinois area, has an immediate opening for a PART-TIME TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR, 20-24 HOURS/WEEK.

We are seeking an emotionally intelligent, self-motivated, technologically savvy individual.

This part-time non-exempt position offers the flexibility to create your own schedule during the Reddick Public Library District’s open hours.

Duties:

  • Maintains, configures, inventories, troubleshoots, and repairs all library technology.
  • Makes recommendations and plans expansion and upgrades for new technologies.
  • Acts as liaison with contracted computer maintenance, vendors, and library system personnel.
  • Assists in providing a variety of technology related programs and services for patrons.
  • Facilitates technology training for staff and the public.
  • Helps plan, improve, and evaluate library’s technology services and polices.
  • Assists in preparation and maintenance of library’s budget.
  • Assists with grant work, if needed.
  • Creates and maintains on site self-set schedule.
  • Prepares monthly reports, surveys, and other reports as assigned by the Director.
  • Provides consistent, gracious and friendly service to internal and external customers.
  • Represents the Library at community and outside organizational functions as needed.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, and professional workshops as required and actively seeks continuing education opportunities.
  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships.
  • Acts as a team member in performing any duty essential to the achievement of library operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum associate’s degree, preferably in a technology-related discipline, or equivalent combination of technical certification/s, specialized training, and work experience.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and networks with excellent troubleshooting skills in complex software and hardware problems.
  • Ability to learn integrated library systems, new procedures, and operate office equipment.
  • Previous public library work experience desirable.
  • Strong professional public service and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well in English, both orally and in writing, required.
  • High level of skill using various technologies including Internet, Microsoft Office products, email, online searching, and Windows operating systems in a desktop computing environment.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Salary:

Salary starts at $20.00 per hour DOQ. 

Benefits:

Participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) and Paid Time for All Workers Act (PLAWA).
