  • Title: Systems, Network Infrastructure Administrator
  • Location: Innovation and Technology @ Library Service Center
  • Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, occasional on call and flex hours outside of regular business hours 
  • Starting Annual Salary Range: $88,000 to $95,000
  • FLSA Status: Exempt

A successful candidate will...

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Possess a CCNA or CCIE certifications
  • Have three to five years of experience
    •  Cisco VoIP experience, Linux Server Maintenance experience, Firewall Management experience, Disaster Recovery experience, Cybersecurity Incidence Response experience
  • Valid Driver’s License

What does the job look like?  

  • Designs, deploys, manages, and supports data network, internet connectivity and firewalls; monitors network security rules and mechanisms; implements network hardware upgrades and topology changes and troubleshoots problems. Manages vendor relationships for the supply of external internet services. Supports centrally managed wireless network.
  • Deploy, manages, and supports Unix and Linux based servers; installs system upgrades and troubleshoots problems.
  • Designs, deploys, manages, and supports telecommunication and voicemail systems; installs and maintains paging system; supports badge communication system.
  • Deploys and supports VMware virtual infrastructure, virtual servers, and Storage Area Network; balances virtual system utilization.
  • Design, deploys, and manages and supports security and disaster recovery methodologies; monitors and maintains systems and procedures that secure Library’s network and databases; identifies potential security hazards, determines security violations, and recommends procedures. 
  • Maintains network and computing infrastructure at 2 data centers and 25 additional locations. Plans and implements physical cable plant upgrades, diagnoses and repairs cable plant issues.
  • Consults for IT management on technology related projects; attends meetings, participates as technical member on various teams for Library Facilities Department.
  • Assist with preparing the equipment and software list of requirements for e-Rate process: RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and SOWs; leads vendors’ pre-conference meetings; and evaluates and ranks vendors’ submitted proposals.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of Business Continuity Plan and Cyber Response Plan for library.
  • Monitor equipment for end-of-life/support and make recommendations for purchases.
  • Occasionally work 24/7- on call for emergencies
  • Able to cope with daily job-related stress
