SUMMARY:

The Research and Instruction Librarian is responsible for providing general and advanced discipline-specific research assistance and instruction services to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff of a designated college, including collection development and engagement, with a focus on coordinating research services for all off-campus instructional sites. This position, primarily located on-site at A&M-Commerce at Dallas and the Mesquite Metroplex Center, requires regular travel to multiple off-campus instruction sites across Northeast Texas.  


The scheduled hours for this position will be either 10:00am-7:00pm or 12:00pm-9:00pm. Final schedule will be established by Director of Research and Instruction based on the needs of the university.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
  • Experience / Knowledge / Skills: One year of post MLS experience in research services (research, reference, instruction, etc). Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and project management skills.  Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
