The New Durham Public Library is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Program & Interlibrary Loan Librarian to join our team. This position is responsible for developing and delivering engaging library programs for all ages, fostering community connections, and overseeing interlibrary loan services to ensure seamless access to materials. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, a passion for literacy and lifelong learning, and the ability to create innovative programming that meets the needs of our vibrant community. A commitment to outstanding customer service and proficiency in using library technology are essential.

Job duties will include: • Assist the director in maintaining and publicizing the program calendar. • Schedule programs each quarter. • Coordinate with presenters and is on site during programs. • Make social media graphics to post on the website to publicize programs. • Send out consistent newsletters to publicize programs. • Keep the website and social media updated with the library program. • Facility requests for materials between libraries with our ILL system. • Ensure timely and accurate ILL transactions. • Maintain positive relationships with library partners. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in planning events or programs is preferred.

This position is $10-$14 per hour depending on qualifications.

Note: The library is going through some growing pains! We are especially looking for someone who can be very flexible with hours and days as the year goes on.
