Program and Outreach Manager

Somerset County Library System of New Jersey offers a full-time position with our library system. 

Program and Outreach Manager  - Grade G

Location: Bridgewater / Department: System Services 

Essential Functions of the Job: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the Program and Outreach department; coordinating and leading system programming and outreach activities; engaging in SCLSNJ management process and other professional activities; performing other work-related responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Manager of System Services.

Minimum Qualifications: Advanced degree in Library Science, Education, or related field preferred; five years of full-time progressively responsible professional experience which includes demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills, with three years' experience in staff supervision and budget oversight; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities; reliable transportation to regularly perform work at other branch locations, attend training, meetings, or other assigned duties at other branches or off-site locations as required.

Physical Demands: Ability to operate a computer and keyboard, projectors, printers, and other office equipment; reading materials and providing verbal assistance to library users in English; manual dexterity to handle books, software, and a variety of media formats; intermittent sitting, standing, and walking; occasional bending, reaching, and stooping; lift and carry items weighing up to 35 lbs.; pushing or pulling objects weighing up to 100 lbs.; distinguishing sounds at various frequencies and volumes; distance vision is sufficient to distinguish people or objects under a variety of light conditions; vision sufficient to view computer screens and spine labels under a variety of light conditions.

“Good Faith” Salary, Range, or Rate of Pay

Annual Salary: $87,263 (non-negotiable) Full-time, Exempt 

Hours: 37.5 plus healthcare benefits, PTO, and PERS retirement fund.

Since the library is open on days and evenings, the schedule may vary; including Saturday and Sunday rotation; and some holidays; the schedule is subject to change with notice.
