Job Summary

The Library Technician provides general library support for the South Lake Campus library and is responsible for assisting with the management of college circulation services and assisting with the supervision of student assistants. Responsible for demonstrating LSSC's core values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating when interacting with students, employees, visitors, and community members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide circulation services for college/university/public library at South Lake Campus.
  • Collaborate with Lake County Library System staff in providing library services at the South Lake Campus.
  • Supervise LSSC student assistants.
  • Assist with collection development and inventory of South Lake campus library collections.
  • Assist with the collection of library statistics for South Lake Campus library.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to prepare reports and write procedures
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Promote a common purpose consistent with stated College goals and demonstrate a commitment to students and the learning environment.
  • Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manuals related to the job tasks.

    • Associate's degree from an accredited institution required
  • One year of relevant experience is required.
