Description

Leads the library in scholarly, professional, and service activities. Works with others in translating Cleveland State Universities (CSU) mission and vision into forward-thinking library operational plans. Provides leadership in marketing and coordinating a program of scholarly information management and retrieval for faculty and students. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited program.
  • Five (5) years of administrative experience in an academic library of which two (2) years has been supervising or leading.
  • Record of significant participation in scholarly, professional, or service activities and demonstrated ability to incorporate these activities into the work experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in library science.
  • Evidence of scholarly achievement reflecting a leadership role at the regional or national level.
  • Eight (8) years of professional experience.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to make effective presentations, have strong public speaking skills, develop, and drive change and effectively communicate change.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and work as an individual contributor and an effective team player, in addition to being highly organized, self-directed and forward-thinking.
  • Possess the ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
  • Skilled in project management, problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence, and persuasion. The ability to function as systems thinker and be solution minded with a global perspective.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
