Library Director

Due to an upcoming retirement, the Westchester Public Library in Westchester, IL has an opening for Library Director. This is a highly skilled, professional position serving as chief operating officer of the library with major administrative responsibility for overseeing the daily operations of the library, for designing and delivering an active program of services in accordance with established goals and objectives, and for implementing Library Board policy.  The director functions with a high level of independent responsibility and accountability. An ALA accredited Master’s Degree in Library Science is required with a minimum of three years of previous supervisory and administrative experience in a public library setting. As this is a full-time salaried, exempt position, the Director is eligible for our complete benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance, IMRF pension, paid sick time and vacation pay. Compensation starts at $83,000 annually depending upon qualifications and experience.
