The coordinator manages the campus library and is the campus librarian. The coordinator develops programs, processes, and services that facilitate the discovery, adoption, and creation of library resources. Acting as the library liaison for Prince Frederick faculty, the coordinator provides reference and information literacy instruction in a variety of formats. In addition, the coordinator leads the maintenance of the library materials catalog. This position works independently and collaboratively to develop, deliver and assess reference, instruction, and collection services. This position also requires knowledge of best practices currently used in the field.
The work schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Flexibility is required.

Essential Functions:
- Supervises daily operations of campus library
- Supervises the circulation of library materials, including new patron registration, reserving books, processing over-dues, processing incoming books, and shelving of library materials
- Helps to lead the library toward vision, mission, and strategic goals of the College
- Address and report facilities and IT issues to campus Operations Director and Library Director in a timely fashion
- Maintains an attractive library including collection, displays and appearance
- Ensures that customers receive efficient and effective service
- Recommends and publicizes the library hours based on the campus events calendar and curricular needs
- Ensures effective use of student assistants to provide adequate staffing
- Hires, trains, and supervises student employees
- Create daily, weekly, monthly, and special event schedules to ensure that the library is adequately staffed
- Markets library services to the campus community
- Develop, teach, and assess information literacy in various environments at various college locations including one-time visits to classes and in-person or online presentations
- Promote library services to the college community by providing library orientations to faculty and students
- Provide general research services through consultations, online reference, telephone, email, chat, text and on-site referrals from the Library Reference Desk
- Design and develop subject guides using LibGuides or similar content management systems and library instructional tutorials
- Collaborate with faculty to develop/create syllabus research assignments, interactions and assessments of information literacy outcomes and online courses
- Assist students in accessing class software and learning management systems on library computers contacting instructors, IT help desk staff, or Distance Learning and Faculty Development (DLF) staff as necessary
- Provide answers to reference questions. Conduct reference interviews as necessary
- Provides patrons (students, faculty, staff, and guests) with directional and procedural assistance, either in locating materials here or from other libraries or with computers
- Perform copy cataloging and original cataloging of print and electronic resources, including audio-visual materials for patron accessibility
- Works closely with Library Director and other library staff in developing weeding project plans, generating the reports and batch data processing that are necessary for collection weeding projects
- Assist in collection development management by reviewing, evaluating, and recommending new materials as well as evaluating and weeding materials (print and electronic)
- Creates original bibliographic and non-MARC metadata records following RDA, AACR2, Library of Congress Classification Schedules and subject headings and other non-MARC metadata related formats (e.g., Dublin Core)
- Coordinate with librarians to ensure that bibliographic access, collection arrangement, and cataloging priorities meet reference and collection management needs
- Records and reports statistical data and unit activities
- Assists the Director in developing unit strategic and assessment plans
- Consults regularly with the Director to resolve problems and develop unit goals and objectives
- Substitutes, as needed, for Library Director at meetings
- Maintains an effective working relationship with campus staff and faculty and with members of the LRT unitAdditional Duties:

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Experience delivering Information Literacy Instruction
- Knowledge of the role of librarians in higher education
- Experience creating LibGuides or similar research support materials
