Jenks Library is looking to hire a collaborative, detail- and service-oriented library circulation manager. This is a part-time position, from mid-August through mid-May, 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM, as well as 2-4 evening meetings per year. As a member of the library team, the library circulation manager will hire, train, schedule, and mentor student workers in addition to creating a welcoming and safe environment for patrons to study through staffing the circulation desk during key morning hours. As a library circulation manager, you are the first person who prospective students, first year students, and new faculty see when they enter the library. You care deeply about mentoring student workers, welcoming and helping patrons, and updating library circulation processes. You delight in both interacting with patrons and making sure books are checked in and out accurately. You’re an independent problem-solver and a collaborative colleague. Does this describe you? Your Role at a Glance: Reports to: Director of Library Services Department: Jenks Library  FLSA Status: Part-time, non-exempt Location: In-person, starting January 2, 2025 Salary: $17-$19/hour Hours: 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM, Monday – Friday, mid-August through mid-May, with 2-4 evening meetings per year Summary: As a member of the library team, the library circulation manager will hire, train, schedule, and mentor student workers in addition to creating a welcoming and safe environment for patrons to study through staffing the circulation desk during key morning hours. Qualifications

  1.    The ability to work with and train a diverse team of student workers. Experience with supervision or working with students preferred.
  2.    Attention to detail and organization.
  3.    Service orientation and a desire to both serve the current patron and anticipate future needs of library patrons.
  4.    General understanding of library procedures. Experience with library circulation ideal, but not necessary.
  5.    Associate or bachelor's degree.
  6.    Competency in operation of computer systems, including Microsoft Office, OneDrive, and Outlook. Experience with Integrated Library Systems preferred.
  7.    Excellent communication skills.
  8.    Ability to work independently and identify and prioritize tasks.
  9.    Collaborative problem-solving skills.
