Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Facilitate patron access to library materials, provide excellent customer service and offer a complete and thorough definition of Library policies. This includes loaning Library materials according to the policies and procedures of the Library. Perform circulation functions of check-out, check-in, renewal of library materials and fine collection. Utilize the scheduling module of the integrated library system to schedule materials and equipment for classroom use. Process credit card payments, schedule small group study rooms, and produce student ID cards.

Provide access to Library materials and equipment, serve as initial contact point for Library patrons.Assist patrons in locating materials such as class reserve items, Circulation Desk media.Solve patron problems and issues based on thorough understanding of Library policies.Regularly use expertise in these policies to make decisions on a case-by-case basis.Schedule faculty and staff requests for audio-visual equipment and Library materials.Assist students in reserving small group rooms and processing Student IDs.Report facility maintenance and security issues appropriately.Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications:**Education - One year of college required. - LTA Certificate or Associate Degree preferred.

  • Experience
    • One year of customer service experience required.
    • Proficiency in written and spoken English required.
    • One year library circulation experience preferred.Working Conditions:

Photocopiers; library computer system and all of its related equipment and functions; cash register; multiple software programs; and audiovisual equipment.Busy public service area; must have excellent people skills; must be flexible and willing to adjust to last minute situations.Must be able to stand for extended period of time.Must be able to reach shelf height of 6 feet.Must be able to work at counter height.Mobility to bend and stoop.Must be able to spend extended periods of time at a computer keyboard and monitor.Vision adequate to read a variety of print materials and computer screens.This position requires a background check.

Part-Time Work Schedule:

Monday-Thursday: 7:15am-12:15pm Friday: 9:45am-4:45pm

Hiring Range: Classified 8 Hourly/18.83 - 19.33
