Performs clerical duties including filing, mailing, management of library materials, copy cataloging, handling interlibrary loans (ILL), helping library users, and supporting the MakerSpace Lab. Performs operational and administrative support directly to department supervisors or individuals following the standards and procedures of the job/unit. JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works at the library desk. Assists library users in accessing library services and materials.
  • Helps with the organization of information in digital formats.
  • Assist with planning, organization, and implementation of library and Makerspace events and programming.
  • Manages study room check in process.
  • Assists with maintenance of Digital Commons and Lib Guide collections.
  • Performs basic cataloging and technical services duties including copy cataloging and updating holdings.
  • Processes interlibrary loan transactions, including requesting loans and processing loan requests from other libraries, searching library catalogs, preparing items for mailing, courier, etc.
  • Processes interlibrary loan materials.
  • Maintains statistics of library usage. Supports the administrative staff with library accounts and purchases Manages files and records of invoices, receipts, and other library activities.
  • Processes interlibrary loan transactions, including requesting loans and processing loan requests from other libraries, searching library catalogs, preparing items for mailing, courier, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a high school diploma.
  • This is an entry level position, no prior work experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience preferred.

  • This position requires a criminal background check.
  • This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. evenings and/or weekends may be required.

EXPECTED STARTING SALARY: $23.22 - $24.52 hourly
