Description
The list established from this recruitment may be used for branch and specialized vacancies within the San Diego County Library.
The Digital Projects and Metadata Position:
This position is responsible for the cataloging, classification and digital preservation of items using national standards and local practices. This unit will also lead San Diego County Library’s efforts to act as a publisher for digital content related to the business of the County.
Branch Manager Position:
This position is responsible for managing a large branch, planning and overseeing branch programming, cooperating with community groups, local leaders, and Friends of the Library to generate public support. You may be responsible for collaborating with local elected and government officials as well as providing supervision and training to professional and paraprofessional staff.
To perform professional library work of a varied nature in County branch libraries or division, including readers' guidance, reference services, materials selection, children's and young adult services, collection development, information technology services, implementing community programs and to perform related work as required.

Librarian III's are distinguished from the next higher class, Principal Librarian, in that the latter is responsible for a major operations region or division such as Program Services, Technical Services, or Access Services, and interpretation of county library policies.
