Education/Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:  This position requires a master’s degree in library science, Information Studies, or related field. In addition to education, one (1) year of teaching, academic librarianship, graduate internship, or relevant experience in a library is required.

Key ResponsibilitiesThis is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities.

  • Supervise staff as assigned.
  • Teach in-person and virtual information literacy to students, faculty, and staff of Daytona State College, develop information literacy curriculum, develop instructional support materials.
  • Provide support of all circulation functions including Interlibrary Loan and reserves.
  • Provide support of all technical service functions including cataloging, processing, and inventory.
  • Provide all patrons with in-person and virtual research assistance. Embed in selected courses as required.

**Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: **

  • Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Must have a general understanding of Library software programs.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to take initiative, be self-directed and have a commitment to innovation and creativity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and be flexible to meet the demands of the College.
  • Must have a general knowledge of all areas of librarianship.
