As a member of the Learning, Research, and Engagement Department, the Instruction & Research Librarian provides information literacy instruction and research assistance in various formats to the UCCS community. This position may explore additional interests in developing, delivering, and promoting library services or be asked to take on other duties as assigned. This is a 12-month faculty appointment that requires commitments in the areas of Teaching/Librarianship and Leadership and Service. Scholarly/Creative Work is not required.

**Job Duties:**Provide in person and/or online information literacy instruction in the First-Year Rhetoric and Writing Program, Gateway Program Seminar, and library workshops. This may include night and weekend classes.

  • Provide general research assistance service in-person and through remote formats.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of online learning materials.
  • Assist with assessment of library instruction and research assistance activities.
  • Serve as a liaison to academic divisions or departments in the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences providing collection development, library instruction, and research assistance.
  • Participate in the development of policies, procedures, and goals for the Learning, Research, and Engagement department and the Kraemer Family Library.

Work Location: Hybrid (20% remote, 80% on-site)

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

What We Offer:

Salary Range: Generally starting at $50,000-$55,000 per year

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library school completed by position start date.
  • 3 months experience or 1 semester of coursework in instruction or instructional design (instructional experience in public library or K-20 setting will be considered)
  • 3 months experience or 1 semester of coursework in providing reference or research assistance.Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3 months experience in an academic library in any position (student employee, staff, practicum, etc.)
  • Experience providing research support, information literacy instruction, or collection development in the health or life sciences OR educational background in the health or life sciences.Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills.
