Public Services
The Public Services department provides 24/7 support to the Georgia Tech Library community. The team is responsible for staffing the INFO Desk, chat, phone, Gadgets office, and ticket support for anyone needing Library assistance. The team is the first line of support for Library inquiries and is deeply involved in the service provisions of the library. Public Services is also responsible for Gadgets, the Georgia Tech Library’s equipment lending service.
Public Programming & Events:
The Georgia Tech Library hosts campus events, scholarly events, and public programs that are free and open to the Georgia Tech community and public. Events and programs include author talks, symposia, researchers in conversation, film viewings, exhibition receptions, etc. Events and programming take place across three buildings: Crosland Tower, the Price Gilbert Memorial Library, and Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons.
Library IT
The Library IT department works collaboratively with all Library service areas to provide Web Services, Application Development, and IT infrastructure support. The multi-unit team manages the Library’s online presence and strategy, creating and managing business applications, providing technology support for Library employees, analyzing and improving IT service delivery, and managing IT-specific projects using AGILE methodology. The IT department prides itself on his strong and mutually beneficial relationship with Georgia Tech’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) and its team members.
Finance
The Library Finance Team works to provide services that covers all financial interests of the Library. This includes budgeting, payroll, travel, professional development, purchases, and expenses. We are responsible for making sure all employees using state or foundation funds follow the guidelines provided by the institute and ensure they are used appropriately. The finance team is tasked with being good stewards of all funds available for use.
Security, Facilities, Events, and Logistics:
The Security, Facilities, Events, and Logistics Team plays an important part in the mission of the GT Library and Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons (CULC). The team ensures a functional and safe place 24/7 for students to learn, employees to work, and research to occur. The team is made up of dedicated and talented professionals that walk our buildings every day, ensuring that the buildings are fully operational to the GT standards. The team interfaces with the students, faculty, and staff from across campus. We proudly let people know that we have the busiest building on campus in our portfolio (Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons).
Archives
Within the department, the faculty and staff manage the University Archives, Special Collections, retroTech, research and scholarship, and Records Management. You can access the collections in the Archives reading room in Crosland Tower and/or through the repository. Records Management also provides guidance to campus relating to records retention and destruction.
Administration
Library Administration handles internal and external administrative matters for the library. The administration provides managerial leadership, strategic planning, portfolio and project management, communications on behalf of the library development, and direction of the overall operations within the library. Members of the administration represent the library across the Institute and include the dean, associate/assistant deans, human resources, communications, finances, and portfolio management.
Library Service Center
A partnership between Georgia Tech and Emory University, The Library Service Center (LSC) represents an innovative approach to the libraries’ mission of preservation and collection of scholarship. The materials in the Library Service Center are stored at 55 degrees and 30 percent humidity, providing optimal, long-term preservation and retention for print and microform collections. Inter-Library Loan and Digital Document Delivery Services are managed in the LSC. The LSC delivers requested material to both Emory University and Georgia Tech libraries twice daily. The material and services are available to Students, Faculty, and Staff members at Georgia Tech and Emory University. The LSC is located on the Briarcliff campus of Emory University, about three miles from the Georgia Tech campus.

Technical Services Technical Services manages the lifecycle of library resources from acquisition through access. The team handles acquisitions, cataloging, e-resource management, course reserves, and resource sharing workflows that make the library’s collections discoverable, accessible, and affordable to the Georgia Tech community. Working collaboratively across library units, Technical Services manages library resource metadata, ensures seamless access to resources, and develops efficient workflows to support the library’s mission. The department emphasizes collaboration, customer service, and innovation in meeting the evolving needs of our academic community. Job Summary Oversee administrative operations of the Dean’s office which may include supervision of administrative staff, financial record keeping and reporting, coordination of communications, event planning and human resources administration.  May serve on various committees and/or task forces at the direction of the Dean. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: faculty, staff and administrative staff, President and Provost offices, corporate representatives , and other contacts with university systems. This position typically will advise and counsel: faculty and staff. This position will supervise: NA. Responsibilities Job Duty 1 – Communicate and interpret administrative policies; develop internal office related procedures as appropriate.
Job Duty 2 – Coordinate the Dean’s schedule and monitor and report status on major initiatives.
Job Duty 3 – Develop agenda and plan and coordinate meetings, conferences and events.
Job Duty 4 – Typically supervise administrative staff, to include training, making assignments and monitoring performance.
Job Duty 5 – Track documentation requiring Dean’s signature.
Job Duty 6 – Prepare financial related reports and maintain records.
Job Duty 7 – Coordinate human resources related actions.
