Evening Circulation Desk Assistant

The Evening Circulation Desk Assistant is responsible for providing customer service and guidance to library patrons. This position works evening hours (Wednesday and Thursday, 3pm-8 pm).  

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

-Register patrons in the CLAMS automated library system. -Charge and discharge library materials to library patrons, including items on reserve. -Assist patrons in the use of the photocopier and answer directional questions. -Refer patrons to the Reference Desk. -Produce College student ID cards. -Shelve library materials. -Other projects, such as searching for missing items, shifting, shelf reading, as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Customer service experience.
2.  Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
3. Thorough knowledge of basic computer applications.
4. Ability to pay strict attention to detail.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience with the CLAMS or Koha library systems.
2. Experience working with diverse populations.

10 hours per week when classes are in session. Part-time, non-benefited. Non-unit position.
