Deputy Director of Public Services

The Poplar Creek Public Library District is seeking a dynamic, energetic, highly-organized, strategic thinking candidate for the position of Deputy Director of Public Services. This position plays a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the library's public service departments, working closely with the Executive Director to develop and implement strategic goals and objectives.

Duties include, but are not limited to: Supervision of department heads, supervisors, and staff to ensure efficient and effective public service; Oversight of public services while optimizing resource allocation for staffing and service delivery; Managing collection development and Community Engagement & Outreach initiatives while working in a collaborative environment. 

As part of the Administration, this position works closely with board trustees to create and execute strategic planning and policy development to support the goals and priorities of the Library.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Library & Information Sciences from an ALA accredited program, and a minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory and/or administrative experience. 

Experience: Demonstrated 3-5 years of progressive managerial experience, including hiring/evaluations, preferably in a public library setting. Grant writing and staff development training experience a plus; Familiarity with public library trends & services.
