Circulation Assistant

Position Title: Circulation Assistant

Location/Department: Summit Free Public Library/Circulation

Reports to: Tahirah Clarke, Head of Circulation

Library Type: Public

Hourly Rate: $22.00 

Representative Job Duties:

• Prepare, shelve, and shift library materials.
• Assist with maintaining and promoting library collections.
• Assist the public at the Circulation Desk in all aspects of service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills: Experience working with a variety of age groups, from babies to seniors; proficiency in working with computers; bilingual English/any language is a plus.

Qualifications/Requirements: High school diploma (or GED) and three years of experience in library or other customer service work, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Schedule:

Average 12 hours per week

Monday: 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm 

Wednesday: 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm 

Saturday: 9:30 am – 1:30 pm (every other)

Sunday: 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm (every other)

*Weekend shifts occur on the same weekend

Since the Library is open days and evenings, schedules may vary; including Saturday and Sunday rotation.
