Job Description

As a member of the University Libraries' leadership team, the CFAO supports strategic data-driven decision making, oversight, implementation, and management of all financial functions and associated procedures/policies (financial, human resources, administrative, and facilities) to maximize the quality, efficiency and impact of the Libraries. The CFAO leverages the Libraries' public and private funds in order to build collections, support services, and optimize spaces to help realize the University's Strategy. The CFAO will perform analyses and make recommendations that support the Dean in making future-oriented decisions about staffing, facilities, collections, and services. Finally, the CFAO will proactively produce reports to ensure that the Libraries are fulfilling the reporting requirements of accreditation agencies and library associations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Libraries' leadership team, responsible for all aspects of the University Libraries' budget ($12M), including developing, compiling, analyzing, projecting, and monitoring the budget; authoring regular and just-in-time financial reports for the Dean and other personnel; ensuring accountability of budgets, reporting, analysis, approvals, and financial strategic planning; and preparing, approving, and monitoring all Libraries' expenditures, including but not limited to transfers, Concur, and Bobcat Buy. Serves as Libraries' main liaison to central finance, central budget planning, procurement, Bursar, and other units.
  • Directs and oversees all administrative functions, including financial, human resources, administrative, and facilities functions. Serves as the key point of contact in the Dean's office for all administrative issues. Provides leadership and oversight for all administrative, financial, and fiscal practices, including overseeing the development of all policies related to finance, human resources, administration, and facilities for approval by the Dean, and managing their implementation. Represents the Libraries in university committees and other planning groups related to finance and administration.
  • Has primary oversight and planning responsibility for all Libraries' facilities and space-planning projects, including regular and deferred maintenance and master planning projects in Alden Library, Music and Dance Library, Hwa-Wei Lee Library Annex, and RHE libraries.Position has regular work with various vendors and library consortial partners, in addition to collaborative work with colleagues within the university.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 1 year of management experience
  • 3 years of related work experience*An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related fieldDepartment Library

Pay Rate: The target salary for this position is $85,000 to $105,000 and is commensurate with the selected candidate's education and experience while considering internal equity.
