Cataloger, Leverett Library

The Leverett Library is a busy community hub for our small, rural community of 1,800 people. 

We are looking for a friendly and tech savvy cataloging/circulation staff member to join our collaborative team. The part-time Cataloging/Circulation staff member is responsible for cataloging new acquisitions and labeling these items for circulation according to the library and CW MARS policies and guidelines. They may also do create brief records for unusual items and will repair damaged materials. 

In addition to cataloging, this position will be responsible for circulation duties including processing deliveries, checking patrons in and out, and orienting new patrons to library services and collections.

Candidates should have strong computer skills, enjoy getting details just right, and will provide exemplary customer service.

This position is 16.5 hours per week including some daytime, evening and weekly Saturday hours.

This position accrues prorated sick and personal time after 6 months of employment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

High school degree  Strong computer skills and attention to detail Friendly, with strong customer service skills Ability to prioritize and work with interruptions and distractions  Well-organized and able to manage time and establish priorities Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as in collaboration High degree of motivation, initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulness Position is subject to pre-employment physical and CORI check.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree Two or more years of library experience  Library cataloging experience Experience working within the CW MARS system Comfort and experience with Evergreen ILS, Commonwealth Catalog, and Aspen.
