Description

Illinois State University Milner Library is accepting applications for an Education & Psychology Librarian faculty position.  This is a twelve-month, tenure-track position to serve as the library liaison to the departments of Educational Administration & Foundations and Special Education in the College of Education and the department of Psychology in the College of Arts & Sciences, which offers curricular programs ranging from undergraduate through doctoral. Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  •  Advanced degree from an American Library Association-accredited program or an ALA-recognized international equivalent 
  •  Strong public services focus demonstrated through commitment to partnerships and collaborative work with relevant stakeholders 
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  •  Strong instructional skills in the classroom
  •  Ability to foster research skills in others through reference and consultation 
  •  Experience or training in collection development
  •  Ability to learn and adapt to rapidly changing technologies and methods, such as working with online and distance learners
  •  Scholarly activity or interest through outlined research agenda and/or output

Preferred Qualifications

  •  An undergraduate and/or graduate level degree in PreK-12 education, education administration, special education, psychology, or related field
  •  Professional experience as an education or social sciences liaison in an academic library and/or in general education, education administration, special   education, or psychology 
  •  Experience supporting graduate student research, particularly at the doctoral level
  •  Familiarity with tests and measures relevant to psychology and special education
  •  Knowledge of emerging trends in education and psychology publications and practices
