SUMMARY:

The Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library (AUC RWWL) supports the teaching and learning missions of four institutions of higher learning that comprise the world's largest consortium of HBCUs—Clark Atlanta University, the Interdenominational Theological Center, Morehouse College, and Spelman College.  Conveniently located and easily accessible to the campuses, the Woodruff Library is the center of intellectual and social life at the Atlanta University Center. 

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

To continue our program and services excellence, the library seeks a highly motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented Assessment Librarian who thrives in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment to lead the library in strengthening a culture assessment across the library by developing a sustainable library assessment program.

 

Reporting to the Associate Library Director, the Assessment Librarian will organize and analyze data collections and reporting across Library departments and establish procedures that support strategic reporting, performance indicators, and data-driven decision-making.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manages data collection for annual reporting and operational statistics, including gathering, reviewing, evaluating, and synthesizing data submitted by library departments
  • Manages data collection, preparation, generation, preservation, analysis, and integrity
  • Collects, analyzes, and builds visualizations, dashboards, and reports for quantitative and qualitative data from various sources such as library systems, vendor statistics, observations, surveys, web analytics, interviews, focus groups, etc.
  • Supports improvements to the libraries' program for gathering, archiving, and analyzing statistics on library usage, collections, and services and impact.
  • Work with other departments to communicate and publish findings; provide data-driven input for decisions; support requests for data dissemination to external audiences and member institutions
  • Other Duties as Assigned

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Work Experience:

 

  • MLS degree from an ALA-accredited library school, Master's degree, or other relevant degrees
  • Prior experience with quantitative and qualitative analysis tools and data visualization software

 

Preferred Education:

 

  • Prior experience with library assessment tools and platforms

 

Work Experience: 

 

  • Using a variety of tools for data collection, presentation, and reporting
  • Familiarity with formal and informal assessment tools
  • Qualitative and quantitative research methods

 

Certifications/Licenses Required:  N/A

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Knowledge of formal and informal data collection tools and trends in Libraries
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively as an individual and across departments, units, teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work within a collegial work environment where change and innovation are encouraged
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in a culturally diverse environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
