Youth Services Assistant Librarian I

Job Description: Do you have an interest in librarianship and want to see what it’s all about? Do you enjoy working with kids and their families? Franklin Park Public Library District is seeking a friendly, helpful, flexible and reliable person to join our Youth Services team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and families, possesses excellent customer service skills, is comfortable with technology and can work both collaboratively and independently. 

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 

• Welcoming patrons to Kids Crossing and answering questions at the Kids Crossing Desk  
• Leading regular programs for youth and assisting with library events  
• Participating in school and community outreach 

Requirements: High school diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office software.  Experience working with children and/or customer service experience is preferred.
