Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Specialist II, Library assists students, faculty and the general public in obtaining resources. Circulates library materials and maintains patron records using automated systems and iStar (PeopleSoft). May perform standard and some advanced administrative duties, including but not limited to receiving and logging information, making copies, sorting and distributing mail, preparing basic correspondence, answering routine questions and inquires, providing information and directions, and providing a customer friendly environment. Interprets and enforces established library policies and procedures. Responsible for specialized service/area within library.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORKING SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
Hiring salary range is $31,200 - $35,880
Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
