Program & Event Librarian

HOURS: Full-time (38 hours per week), exempt. Schedule includes weekdays, some nights, and a regular weekend rotation.

DESCRIPTION: Are you a creative, energetic, and forward-thinking individual? Do you have a passion for planning and coordinating engaging adult programs and large-scale events? If so, we want you to be part of our vibrant and progressive library team!

As the Program and Event Librarian, you will have the exciting opportunity to coordinate our renowned Great Authors Series, featuring best-selling authors, along with a variety of excellent programs throughout the year. You’ll build valuable partnerships with community organizations and groups, making a significant impact through your event planning.

In this role, you will

• Plan, execute, and evaluate innovative programs for adults.
• Coordinate large-scale, library-wide events for all ages.
• Assist customers of all ages at public service desks with information and reference questions.
• Provide guidance and instruction on using library computers, electronic devices, makerspace equipment, and other technologies.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution preferred or equivalent education and experience acceptable. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, well-spoken, and have a strong ability to take initiative. Public library experience is preferred.
