Part Time Library Collections Specialist (Temporary)

Description

Position Primary Purpose and General Duties:

The Part-Time Library Collections Specialist (Temporary) position reports directly to the Health Sciences Collections Librarian and works with the Electronic and Continuing Resources department to review, update, and maintain journal inventory. Tasks include adding items to our integrated library system (Alma), assisting with troubleshooting issues, identifying items in need of repair, and other related duties. Requires the use of Alma and Google Sheets. The successful applicant will be detail-oriented, expected to produce highly accurate work, and will ask questions when unsure. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work in an environment that may include exposure to dust or mold. Requires lifting and moving items, occasionally up to 50 pounds.

This is a temporary Library Specialist 1 position through June 2025. It requires 29 hours a week between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, from Monday to Friday.

This job requires onsite work within VCU Libraries, and is located on the MCV campus. Hybrid or remote work is not available for this position.
