Library Assistant - Children's Services

The Louis T. Graves Memorial Public Library located in the heart of Kennebunkport, Maine is searching for a highly motivated individual with a customer service orientation for the full-time role of Library Assistant - Children's Services.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing the flow of materials
• Ensuring operational efficiency
• Delivering superior customer service

Primary duties:

• Organize and maintain the library collection
• Manage circulation desk operations
• Assist patrons
• Oversee library transaction data entry
• Assist the Children's Librarian in all aspects of programming (weekly storytime and special events) and class visits with area schools
• Use Follett Destiny and other software for circulation tasks

The position requires 37.5-40 hours weekly, including Saturday mornings.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in data entry
• Excellent organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Familiarity with library services
• Accurate typing
• Experience with a public library system
• Knowledge of Follett Destiny software is advantageous

The hourly wage is $18.00-$19.50, with benefits including PTO, holidays, retirement, and a health savings account.

Experience:

• Customer service: 2 years (Required)
• Library services: 2 years (Required)
• Education: Associates
