Part-Time Library Assistant

CT State Community College Naugatuck Valley is hiring a part-time Library Assistant at the branch location in Danbury, CT. Directly reporting to the Director of Library Services, but working under the direction of the Danbury Campus Librarian, the part-time Library Assistant is responsible for the lending of library materials including reserves and technology, answering ready reference questions, and overseeing the library area of the campus in the absence of the Danbury Campus Librarian.

Total Compensation: $34.06 per hour

Work Schedule & Location: The selected candidate will be scheduled for 17 hours per week during the academic semester. This position requires a varied work schedule that would likely comprise 4-5 hour shifts Monday through Thursday. This position may require additional flexibility to accommodate class schedules. The work location is CT State Naugatuck Valley Danbury Campus, 190 Main Street, Danbury CT.

Training and Experience: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree is required and some professional library experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience with Alma/Primo and basic library research skills and have some fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, or both.
