Part Time Librarian, Technical Services

The Windsor Public Library is seeking a knowledgeable, part-time librarian to work in our busy technical services department. Responsibilities include copy cataloging of children’s print materials.

Our Ideal Candidate: Experience with copy cataloging. Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift production focus when requested. Possess excellent attention to detail; strong organizational skills; enthusiastic; passionate about literacy; team-spirited, motivated, and organized. Communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse customers and coworkers. Ability to work in a fast paced, customer service environment with patience, flexibility and attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library Science with two (2) or more years of public library cataloging experience. Experience with standard MARC21 format; knowledge of RDA/AACR2 cataloging guidelines, Dewey Decimal Classification, LCSH Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Internet, and other programs as needed; familiarity with specific applications (i.e. Innovative Interfaces ILS, Excel and Publisher)

Schedule is flexible 8-10 hours per week

The hourly rate for this position is $22.00-$25.00 per hour depending on experience

Successful candidates will be subject to the Town of Windsor background screening process, which includes a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen (includes screening for marijuana).
