  • Department Description: The Helen K. and James S. Copley Library, located on the west end of the campus, currently houses over 500,000 volumes. Collections include books, journals, reference works, databases, government documents, newspapers and electronic journals in many languages, as well as maps, videos, sound recordings, microforms and rare books.

Detailed Description: This is a part-time temporary, non-benefit-based position with an anticipated end date of May 23, 2025. The appointment is renewable at the discretion of the University and dependent upon performance and continued funding.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Copley Library's Department of Collections, Access and Discovery seeks a reliable, punctual, and enthusiastic Evening Supervisor. The Evening Supervisor is responsible for all access services while on duty and provides excellent customer service to faculty, students, and other library users while maintaining a professional, positive demeanor at all times. In addition to shelving books and assisting with other services, this person is expected to maintain a safe and quiet study environment in the library, secure the building (including setting alarms) when closing, as well as follow and enforce all library policies. This person works up to 19 hours per week and reports to the Head of Access and Outreach Services.

Job Requirements: **Minimum Qualifications:**Punctual and reliable attendance.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and Google Workspace including Gmail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn an automated library system to loan items and execute service-related tasks.Posting Salary: $17.49 - $17.50 per hour

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.

Additional Details: Hours: 19 hours per week

Candidate will work 4 hours, Monday through Thursday, 4-8pm, and 3 hours on Fridays, 3-6pm.
