The Outreach Specialist collaborates with community partners to provide access to library services and resources outside traditional library spaces. They foster relationships and build bridges between the Library and schools, community service agencies and local businesses, and communicates with the broader Fremont community via social media. The Outreach Specialist coordinates with various librarians and staff in the library to attend outreach events, and they manage requests from community groups for Library meeting rooms.  A detailed job desciption is available on the application page.

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic about library services and programs and be able to motivate patrons and employees alike in sharing the library's purpose to engage the community, inspire creativity and enrich minds.
  • Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree or five or more years of relevant work experience in a similar position. Librarians with a Master's degree are encouraged to apply. A proficiency in speaking Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to work occasional evenings or weekends as to be present at essential community events, and possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to different local locations, including some that are outdoors, to represent the library.
