  • The Manager of Programs & Events serves as the institutional lead in executing programs that align with the PMML’s mission and brand, connecting with audiences via various means. Through logistical coordination of all Museum & Library programs, events and A/V production, this individual is charged with coordinating event attendance, expanding the PMML’s on-site and virtual presence, and expanding public engagement. The position has high public exposure with VIP visitors, donors, board members, military officials and others. Must be willing to work across departments to manage content and promotion. Some weekend and evening hours are required.

ESSENTIAL POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in business, history or liberal arts; master’s degree preferred. Knowledge and interest in military affairs, military history and/or the Cold War era is highly desirable.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in programming, event planning and/or management. Media production experience helpful.
  • Advanced abilities with Microsoft Office products and virtual platforms.
  • Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills; highly organized.
  • Experience with project oversight.
  • Familiarity with Kenosha/southeast Wisconsin demographics, organizations and public events. ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • As lead of the Museum & Library’s Programming department, consults with internal and external subject matter experts to create informative, engaging content and programs for diverse audiences of all ages.
  • Enforces writing and style guidelines in all program materials and scripts. Writes program scripts as needed.
  • As a supporting member of the PMML leadership team, attends and supports normal and special events (Gala, fundraisers, etc.) with planning, staffing, budget, and short and long range planning.
  • Acts as a PMML community liaison and program officer including participation for select military-related committees and events and related community organizations, developing community outreach programs to raise awareness of the PMML.
  • Maintains master calendar for Museum & Library’s programs, events and rental bookings. Serves as point person for all space and event rentals, and creates written menu of revenue-generating rental offerings.
  • Schedules and oversees the Museum & Library’s regular programming including coordination with authors, publishers, fellows, and program hosts. Able to host and moderate these programs when needed.
  • In partnership with the PMML senior management team, assists with institution-wide planning efforts and future-oriented institutional initiatives.
  • Oversees the overall program development of the Museum & Library, including developing high-quality programs and activities to complement exhibits and other offerings.
  • Encourages staff professionalism, promotes teamwork, and uses the resources and creativity necessary to develop solutions to Museum issues and concerns.
  • Develops and implements program management policies, procedures, and evaluative/measurement tools that will ensure that all of the Museum’s activities conform to museum best practices, meet the Museum’s standard of excellence, and meet the needs of the Museum’s various audiences.
  • Coordinates editing of all audio and video needed for program execution.
  • Works with senior leadership and Pritzker Military Foundation staff to increase Museum & Library’s visibility and collaborate with similar organizations on program partnerships.
  • Leads the PMML Literature Award selection process including coordination of phone calls, materials, travel, nominations, and awareness surrounding the award announcement and related symposium.
  • Provides timely updates to Marketing team for promotion on website, social media platforms, email blasts and other communications.
