JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for library applications, services and solutions to support the mission of the library and the University. Responsible for student & faculty support of library- related technology and applications and managing and troubleshooting all aspects of the Library website, including development and management of the library’s LibGuides. Also responsible for managing the library’s Integrated Library System as the primary system administrator (OCLC WMS). In addition, this position is responsible for EZProxy configuration and support, hosted by OCLC, compiling usage reports for all library databases and eBook collections usage statistics, implementing and reporting on Google Analytics concerning usage of library online resources, monitoring and hardware and software and reporting any issues with those resources, as well as classroom technology issues to DoIT. Reports to the University Librarian. As a key member of Technical Services at the library, this position also supports the library by completing copy cataloging of print and other materials. The library is open seven days per week during the academic year; flexibility in schedule to include some nights and weekends is expected.

Duties and Tasks:

· Manages the administrative (back-end) side of OCLC WMS and all library databases, keeping all settings current, reviewing updates and acting on vendor announcements concerning updating and managing settings so that users have a seamless experience; developing close working relationships with each vendor in order to effectively communicate library needs and enhancements to the vendor.

· Manages the library’s Integrated Management System (OCLC WMS) according to best practices, ensuring patron records are up-to-date, and to personalize the experience of the patron; assists with the migration of records and data as needed.

· Serves as point of contact for all online access issues, as well as hardware, printing, and software questions from students, faculty and staff regarding library-related resources and services; reports classroom, hardware, and printing issues as they arise to the University Librarian, and submits maintenance requests to the appropriate department.

· Works with Technical Services and vendors to update URLs in the WMS KnowledgeBase (KB), OCLC library catalog or most current ILS, and the library’s website to provide online access. Addresses broken links in ILS, KB, and EZProxy as needed

· Manages EZProxy hosted services to ensure students, faculty and staff have access to all proxied resources; updates settings when new resources added, or when vendors change access stanzas.

· Runs broken link reports for LibGuides on a weekly basis, resolves broken link issues, and maintains library website.

· Supports students, faculty, and staff with tech-related gaps in knowledge or understanding, assisting them in-person, online and in chat, and using Zoom to identify and resolve problems, as well as provide support and individualized one-on-one training for students on an as-needed basis.

· Supports Technical Services with copy cataloging, serials, and other Technical Services needs

· Sets up and manages Google Analytics, supports library YouTube accounts as needed

· Gathers, maintains and reports on all library-related online usage statistics, including databases, eBooks, LibGuides and website; including Google Analytics, including quarterly and annual reports.

· Participates in ongoing evaluation of the user experience and the evaluation of library online systems and services. May be asked to contribute to reference services online and in person.

· Manages online forms for ILL, library instruction requests, community patron library card requests, etc; pulls usage data and reports usage to University Librarian.

· Cross trained in ILL and circulation functions to fill in as needed, including opening and closing building.

· Schedule includes the possibility of nights and weekends as needed; works in circulation as assigned.

· Monitors student work quality and customer service area of circulation several days per week. Manages FWS student employees as assigned in collaboration with the ILL Assistant and the Staff Coordinator

· Other duties and projects as assigned.

Education/Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of library or library-technology related experience required

· Master’s degree in library/information science from an ALA-approved program with courses in library applications, library websites, and Integrated Library Management Systems with at least one year of library experience strongly preferred.

· Google Analytics, CSS experience strongly preferred

· At least one year of library work experience in Technical Services as a copy cataloger, technical services assistant, systems assistant, or a related library area required (public or academic). Two-to-five years of library work experience in Technical Services and Public Services strongly preferred.

· Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills in an academic library environment, or related field.

· At least one year of experience with OCLC WMS or another ILS system, LibGuides and LibAnswers strongly preferred.

· At least one year of experience as a front-end supervisor in education, libraries or retail required
