Library Technician, Programming and Supply Order

Rate:19.59 / up to 20 hours per week. SCLSNJ -Bridgewater, NJ branch

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, receiving, unpacking, cataloging, and distributing new shipments of program supplies to the library branches; updating supervisor and/or team members immediately regarding problems with shipments; acquiring materials and processing invoices to appropriate staff for further handling; communicating delivery of supplies to appropriate staff at the branches; coordinating transit of program supplies to the branches; performing other library-related tasks as assigned by supervisor or branch manager.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; some college or technical school coursework, one year of related customer service or library experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities; reliable transportation to perform the essential functions of the position and to attend training, meetings, or other assigned duties at other branches or off-site locations as required.

Schedule: Primarily daytime hours Monday through Friday; since the library is open days and evenings, schedules may vary including some holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays for special events or programs; schedules are subject to change with notice.

Reading materials and providing verbal assistance to library users in English; manual dexterity to handle supplies and materials; intermittent sitting, standing, and walking; frequent bending, reaching, and stooping; lifting and carrying items weighing up to 35 lbs.; pushing or pulling objects weighing up to 100 lbs.; distinguishing sounds at various frequencies and volumes; distance vision sufficient to distinguish people or objects under a variety of light conditions; vision sufficient to view computer screens and labels under a variety of light conditions.

This is not a seasonal or temp position.
