Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a Library Specialist. This position provides the EMCC Community (students, employees, public) library service including varied support related to technology, library information resources, and circulation services. This position also performs troubleshooting of minor hardware and software issues.

Essential Functions

30% Assists the EMCC Community at the Library Services Desk. Aid the EMCC Community by providing library circulation services, guidance on scanning materials, reference services, and assistance in using the library's print and non-print resources.

30% Performs a variety of tasks beyond working at the Library Services Desk, such as, process reserves; maintain print and non-print collections; process intradistrict (IDL) and interlibrary (ILL) loan materials; post fines, inventory, etc.

20% Performs a variety of clerical tasks, such as, creating and tracking requisitions, purchase orders, and blanket purchase orders. Track library database subscription end dates and process database renewals by gaining quotes from vendors. Process the quotes and send approved purchase orders to vendors. Track pricing and payments for databases. Complete the district's new vendor registration form.

20% Performs a variety of office tasks, such as, order office supplies, prepare reports and assist with special projects; trains and provides work direction for student assistants and temporary workers; perform other duties as assigned commensurate to grade level of the position.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and one (1) year of full-time equivalent experience in library support services such as library information resources, circulation services and equipment coordination.

OR

High school diploma/GED from a regionally accredited institution and three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience in library support services such as library information resources, circulation services and equipment coordination.

Desired Qualifications

A. One (1) year of experience in an academic setting or higher education

B. Two (2) years in positions providing customer service

C. Experience with integrated library systems

D. Experience with standard office productivity software such as Microsoft Office or Google Suite

Special Working Conditions

May be required to work evenings and weekends May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs with or without a reasonable accommodation
