Summary: A full-time Library Project Coordinator is an administrative position working a split week; three days at the Mack Library on the Bethlehem campus and two days at the ESSA Library on the Pocono campus. This position provides administrative support and assists in the overall operation of both libraries, including Information Services staff scheduling, circulation and testing data collection and reporting, and assessment of service areas.
Primary Function: Serves as the support administrator for the library department, coordinating services and operations between the Bethlehem and Pocono campus libraries.
Responsibilities: (1) Library and testing center operations (a) Establishes and manages staffing schedules of circulation and information desks at both campuses; (b) Manages staffing changes and call-offs for those desks; (c) Processes student workers for employment and approves time sheets; (d) Serves as contact between library testing and Accessibility Resource Center; (e) Leads assessment of operational efficiency and effectiveness of circulation and testing desks; (f) Coordinates training for new information services staff; (2) Operations Data (a) Compiles and reports data from library testing centers at both campuses; (b) Coordinates yearly updating of procedures and manuals for desks and testing centers; (c) Manages data collected from circulation and information desks at both campuses. (3) Additional responsibilities as assigned, including (a) Coordinates Pocono testing center software and hardware, in conjunction with Library Computer Technician; (b) Covers during the absence of Library Computer Tech; (c) Coordinates maintenance and library interior needs at both campuses; (d) Oversight of stack maintenance.
Organizational Relationships: (1) Reports to the Director, Library Services for assigned responsibilities. (2) Collaborates cooperatively with members of other departments and the College community at large. (3) Relates individual and organization's role to College mission and goals.
Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) Mutually agreed upon objectives have been attained within specified time frame. (2) Responsibilities of the position have been conducted at a level consistent with performance objectives. (3) Effective cooperative relationships exist with other members of the Library staff, faculty, and administration.
Qualifications: (1) Education: Bachelor's degree; library science coursework or related field preferred. (2) Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: (a) Excellent oral and written communication skills; (b) Strong customer service skills; (c) Highly detail oriented; (d) Proficiency in Microsoft Office; (e) Aptitude to work with and learn new technologies; (f) Ability to function independently, have flexibility, and work effectively with co-workers, students, and staff; (g) Ability to prioritize multiple tasks; (h) Ability to maintain confidentiality. (3) Experience: (a) Minimum of 2 years library experience; academic library preferred; (b) Minimum 2 year's supervisory experience; (c) test proctoring experience preferred.
